London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2014 was decidedly reassuring for lovers of pastel colours and femininity with an edge.  No where was this more obvious than in Holly Fulton’s most recent collection. Her silhouettes strongly referenced 1950s ‘Mad Men-esque’ patterns with skirts both in both pencil and prom shapes. Her coats, in beautiful tones, would have been worn with relish by the most glamorous of Hitchcock heroines.

Conversely, the show also featured 1920s style silhouettes too. Dresses inspired by the wardrobe of a spirited flapper were embroidered and embellished with what one can imagine would have been her favourite Art Deco details.

It was also lovely to see pieces featuring prints that jewellery lovers will adore. A very glamorous arm drenched in a multitude of bracelets adorned a number of garments. Very Gemma Redmond Vintage.

Holly’s show was a refreshing colour palette demonstrating that Winter dressing doesn’t always have to be dark and a beautiful paradox of inspirations from different eras.

I am certainly tempted to invest in a few key pieces and I’ve begun thinking about how I might style them with Gemma Redmond Vintage costume jewellery.

With such a bold, eclectic print already a key feature of this piece, it is important not to ‘over work’ this look with too much jewellery.

I would choose a statement pair of earrings by Givenchy from the 1980s (available from Gemma Redmond Vintage)

I feel that they are the perfect shade of blue to complement the hue of this dress .

Dating from the 1950s, these earrings (available from Gemma Redmond Vintage) are the ideal ‘true vintage’ touch to add to this look inspired by that most fashionable of time periods.
