The Goodwood Revival 2014

The Goodwood Revival is a paradise for petrol heads with a passion for vintage motorbikes, cars and aircraft…

Ok, admittedly, this is not an a-typical opening statement for a fashion blog. But the Revival is also a haven for style lovers too. Particularly those who enthuse about vintage looks.

On September 13th and 14th, I visited the Revival for a second time. Accompanied by eight family members and friends, there was something there to entertain us all. The Goodwood Revival is an annual celebration and commemoration of all that was popular and taking place during the famed race circuit’s heyday from the early 1940s to late 1960s. Revivalists ( as they are affectionately termed) are encouraged to attend the event in period looks and this is what particularly made the event appeal to me. Any opportunity to show how Gemma Redmond Vintage pieces would have been worn at the time of their manufacture is very welcome!

Dressing for a Parallel Universe…

I haven’t posted since March. This has nothing to do with me loosing interest in blogging or with a decreasing zest for writing. But, it has everything to do with a whirlwind of happenings during the past six months. Emotions, encounters and experiences seem to have halted me in my tracks every step of my way. Not all of them have been entirely negative and each one has shaped me for the better. I lost my mojo for a while, for I was not always the blameless party. I had the wind taken out of my sails for a bit. Thankfully, the onslaught appears to have ended and I am touching wood – namely my head – that obstacles will stop coming along in groups. Now, it appears that I can keep on ‘keeping on’ once more.

The London Diaries: Part 2…

I spent my Saturday evening in London enjoying all that The Langham had to offer.

We had cocktails at ‘The Artesian’ – voted number one in the list of the world’s 50 best bars. There, I enjoyed a ‘Super Panda’, which consisted of Botran rum, Kamm & sons, mango, citrus and almond. It was delicious and made remarkable through its presentation, which involved it being accompanied by a lantern, shaped like a panda’s head, filled with an orange fragrance!
